fun prank: teach girls from an early age that their entire worth lays in how pretty they are, then make fun of them for being “”“superficial”“”

dear caretakers of children: stop telling kids “I don’t care who started it!”. you’re teaching children to ignore unequal power balances. that leads to legitimate belief in things like reverse racism, misandry, heterophobia, etc. you’re teaching children that it’s wrong to retaliate when they are wronged. “who started it” is very, very relevant.

why-the-hate:

A few basic backbends:

  1. Camel Pose: generally a beginner pose but can be made harder by creating a straight line upwards from your knees to your hip bones.
  2. Wheel Pose: can range anywhere from beginner to advanced
  3. Wheel Pose Variation: Lift one leg up at a time and try to maintain your balance. as you improve you can work on staightining your leg.
  4. Wheel Pose Variation: work on walking your hands and feet together, stratining your legs, and then just work on walking around in wheel to feel more comfortable. (as seen here)
  5. Wild Thing: from wheel work on lifting up opposite hands and legs till you find balance. This is considered an intermediate pose.
  6. Wheel Pose Variation/Half King Pigeon: starting from wheel bring your legs down onto the ground. This transition may feel uncomfortable at first but will improve naturally over time.
  7. King pigeon: Continuing from half king pigeon bend your back up towards the sky and work on reaching for your toes and then your ankles.
  8. Pigeon pose: coming into a half split where your knee is bent at around 35 degree angle. Then get comfortable there as this is basic pigeon pose. the next level would be to twist sideways slightly, lift up your leg and grab it with your elbow with your hands placed on your head. see here. Then for a more advanced back bend twist back forwards and work on grabbing your foot with your hands while your arms create a triangle pointing upwards.
